The council very efficiently last evening debated and approved this no-confidence resolution. Hopefully it will send a message that is read and our legislature will take notice.
For my part, I have always stated the whole project is a "boondoggle" and should be aborted. It is truly amazing how this project seems to be able to endure events and reports that should have shut it down long ago, but somehow it survives.
Hundreds of engineers, consultants and attorneys are feeding at the money trough, while our schools, and other needed activities are being starved for funds.
This project, labeled the "worst planned HSR project ever" by Joe Vranich needs to buried.

[Post removed. Topic is high speed rail, not earthquakes.]

An elevated railway 60 feet above the ground, the equivalent of a 6 story building, 80 feet wide, as wide as the Bayshore freeway running from San Jose to San Francisco. Only 25% of the funding has been identified and the costs are likely to zoom ahead faster than the trains. How can this be a bad idea?

I AGREE. EARTHQUAKES CERTAINLY ARE NEVER DISCUSSED IN CONJUNCTION WITH EVACUATION EMERGENCIES. oh, did i break a law by writing real big?
