Always sad to see a small business close. It's hard to make an honest buck in America today, with government taxation, regulation, lawyers, and union parasites leeching of the ever-dwindling number of productive citizens.

Yes, local but fairly useless, overpriced store, not compelling at all.

I went by a few days ago and got a few deals.
The owner was so sweet and I am always sad to see a good business close. Good luck in your next venture!

Tea Party talking points aside, I'd attribute a lot of merchants' troubles downtown to voracious landlords and property managers both of whom seem unwilling to negotiate with owners of existing businesses. I have heard lots of stories of businesses failing downtown with landlords and property managers unwilling to help. One property management company in particular is responsible for many of the empty storefronts in Menlo Park.
