I am heartened that towns throughout the state are waking to the truth that you cannot "work with" the High Speed Authority. You can only smash them. Opposing this corrupt entity and their army of taxpayer-teet suckling contractors, politicians and consultants is noble and has nothing to do with not supporting a real rail project for California that could be quite beneficial. That is if started from the ground up based on need, travel patterns and sane economics, rather than corruption, politics and greed.

Good to hear from you again Jay- let the voice of sanity be heard loud and clear- HSR is a get rich scam for the fat kitties who want to get even fatter off of our tax dollars, and denying this scandalous project is something that must be done- smash HSR!
Take a stand against fat cat greed and an illplanned train system that simply doesn't meet the needs of the people of california- if were going to spend billions on such a project it must be done the right way- and the current plan is not beneficial to the hard working taxpayers who will be providing the majority of the funding.

High speed rail is for the elite. My niece lives in Philadelphia, owns a business; her husband is a professor at the University of PA. She cannot afford to ride high speed rail to NYC because it cost too much. She takes a bus instead. We need transportation for all classes of people. Lets hope the Obama administration will come to its senses and realize that.

The problem we seem to have is that it makes no sense to the HSR decision makers either.

The rail line should only go to San Jose. There is no reason for it to go up the peninsula. We already have Cal-Train. There could easily be an express Cal Train that would allow people to get relatively quickly up to SF from the high speed train.

In addition, are we going to lose Cal Train because of the high speed rail using the same right of way? If so, that is a terrible bargain.

1. How frequent/day is high speed rail if it passes thru Atherton.

2. What's the noise level compared to existing Caltrain.

3. How much "widening" of the track corridor will be, when high speed rail added together with Caltrain.
