We should get K&L Liquors to move to Menlo Park.

Some people would have thought there was no need for another eyeglasses store, coffee shop or nail salon, either.
There's a much simpler solution than trying to impose your consumer biases on others. If you don't like a store, just don't shop there. If enough people feel as you do, they'll go away soon enough.

I honestly do not understand why people have such a hard time with the concept of a free market. If Bevmo is not needed or wanted it will go away because no one will shop there.
Interesting to note the 1500 cards that were sent in are offset by 1200 Menlo Park residents that have a Bevmo discount card. So it seems about even as to who wants it and who doesn't.
Again, if you don't want them in town don't shop there.

The Hogan and Rosasco families supported the delivery of a doorstep flier "Oppose BevMo in Menlo Park" (we received it on Sun, 9/19).
This is a lot of effort to oppose one store's permit application. The motivation appears to be in support of "locally centered merchants [who] have a real interestin the continuing welfare of our community".
I hope, by this, that these families practice what they preach, and actively avoid shopping at all of the chain stores in town (Trader Joe's, Safeway, Shell, Chevon, 76, Peets, Starbucks, Chase, Bank of America, Staples, Big5, and the others).
I support the city counsil decision to approve BevMo's permit. And I'll continue to shop a the stores that provide selection & service (Kepler's, Beltramos, Draegers, and many others).
