Don't back down. This end move by the Beltramos should be declined. Keep them to the original agreement. Menlo needs more below market units, not less. Keep your eye on the ball ... the need for below market units!

Now that we know that Beltramos is behind the most recent attempts to keep Bev Mo out of town because the fear of competition, shouldn't some M.P. homeowners object to the addition of more housing units because they might bring down the resale value of their homes? After all, scacity of housing in our town is a contributing factor to the housing values.

You people are unbelievable! Beltramo has proposed an alternative that is very sensible, viable, and financially advantageous to both the city and to themselves, and you just want to be short sighted, stubborn, and vindictive. The Beltramos have been a fixture in Menlo Park for a long time, certainly contributed plenty of their own time, money, and other resources over the years. They certainly have the right to protect their interests and investments. What have you self righteous whiners done for the community to try to make it a better place to live, besides complain about everybody else?

Hopefully the Housing Commission and the City Council stick to the orginal agreement - three very much needed BMR units.
The city has already changed the zoning on the property to allow Beltramos to build the project and additionally they have been exception has been given to the building heights.
Now they are whining at the last minute about their costs and profits. Well, that's part of doing business. The same as having a competitor liquor store in town.
Unbeliievable says the Betramos are a "fixture" in town. Sometimes it's necessary to remove an old fixture for the betterment of the property and the community.
If the Beltramos can't do it as agreed in the original 3 BMR agreement then they can always sell the property to someone else who would be better able to handle a development on the site.

Can't believe anyone would want to buy/live in one of those homes, they are going to be build on top of a former dry cleaning store. It should be a major concern for future homeowners.
