I don't know anyone involved...but two men armed with guns enter a home and only steal and iphone and flee when they heard someone??? Sounds like someone lost their phone and didn't want to tell mama. I'm just saying...risk all that jail time, commit home invasion robbery for a phone you can steal at Starbucks? Maybe they were just really dumb crooks. If I am wrong, to the victims, I apologize...but this is a tough one.
My Latino gardener was robbed of $1400 (all his rent money) in EAST PALO ALTO in front of his house at gunpoint a month ago in broad daylight at 3 pm. The EPA Police Dept has the license plate # of the suspects car, plus accurate descriptions of both of the African American male suspects. Do you think THIS would merit an article in the Almanac or that EPA police would endeavor to actually catch these thugs? No "sketch artist" was hired to draw the suspects for any newspaper article like this Menlo Park PD has. I suppose East Palo Alto is just not tony enough to merit any story at all. You have to have multi-million dollar digs to merit notice.!!!
Sad commentary on our society.
I am so sorry to hear what happened to your gardener! EPA can be dicey. It's hard to know if that a wealthy home is needed to get attention paid a crime, or if the police are overloaded. Still & all that's a good sized cash robbery.
Sometimes in lieu of money or social status, one has to pressure the cops & be a big time squeaky wheel.
Do you know what street this happened on?
Sorry Ranch Gal, but if the A reported on all East Palo Alto crime it would have to be three times its current size. That is not to downplay what happened to your friend. It is a violent, crime ridden city that everyone pretends is not there and no one wants to hear about it. It is corrupt from top to bottom, and the city doesn't care, the thugs don't care, and the good poor people trapped there get the shaft.
