"I have an obligation and public duty as an elected official to serve the people of this county in my current capacity as long as possible," Mr. Church said in a statement.
Mark Church took an oath to fulfill the 4 year term of Supervisor which ends in December 2012. He personally chose to run for San Mateo County assessor-clerk-recorder office which happens to pay $174,000 vs. $85,000.
Mark Church has made his choice which will cause San Mateo County more pain and suffering, Had he resigned as asked, the BOS could have put the vacant seat on this next November election for very little money and the Voters of San Mateo County would have filled it.

Shame on Mark Church. There is no question his first allegience is not to the citizens of San Mateo County, and the hideous financial picture Mr. Church himself helped create by voting to give indigents (with over $200K in retirement) three million dollar Stanford university Liver transplants at the County expense (Nov. 9, 2008 meeting) without asking if the money would be repaid, or where the money would come from..... This staunch supported of appointment (of his Democrat, Union-backed/subsidized cronies) flies in the face of our citizens and their demands for open elections. look out for this guy...and his motives....

The San Mateo County Shuffle continues.....as Mr. Stogner sez" Welcome to San Mateo County.....I would just like to add, "NOW WAKE UP!" Keep Gordon out of Sacramento and Horsley off the Board....or it's more of the same....and don't complain.....just my opinion.
