Vote No on Proposition 16. PG&E is deliberately misleading the voters. The Mercury News unequivocally stated that PG&E is LYING to the public. According to the Mercury News PG&E customers pay 84 percent more per kilowatt hour than the residents of Santa Clara. So if you have a $300 per month utility bill in Menlo Park, your bill for the identical amount of electricity would only be $163 in Santa Clara. A $137 penalty. Please refer to this web link

Now PG&E wants to require the Cities to get a 2/3 voter approval to be allowed to enter the electricity business and charge its residents far less for the exact same commodity. But PG&E wants residents to pay 84% more for its electricity. After all it has an overly compensated staff that it has to maintain.

Suppose that the Presidency of the United States had no term limits. And suppose the party in power could stay in power if it got 1 vote over 1/3. This would mean that the opposition party would have to get twice as many votes as the incumbent in order to unseat that person from th presidency in a general election. Now Democrats imagine that it is November 2008 and Repblicans imagine it is November 2102. Makes you cringe doesn't it. So, is the 2/3 PG&E proposal fair? Of course not. But PG&E does not believe in fairness only in excessive profits at its customers' expense.

PG&E is a monopoly and faces no real competition. In the few areas where it faces competition the customers pay substantially less. PG&E wants to maintain its monopoly and continue to overcharge its customers. PG&E wants to supress competition. PG&E wants to supress the creation of Green energy.

You see PG&E has the best of both worlds. Not only is it a monopoly. It is a monopsony as well. So all those small companies that want to go into the renewable energy business in California have to sell primarily to PG&E. This means that PG&E can and will low ball the price it pays for its energy. But do you think for one minute that PG&E will pass the savings on to the customers. In a pig's eye!

This Proposition is so egregious and mendacious that Con Edison (Los angeles area) and SDG&E (San Diego area) refused to go along with this shameful charade and PG&E had to go it alone.

Deception is not new to PG&E. PG&E also lied to the residents of Hinkley, CA when it told them that Hexavalent Chromium posed no health risk. The only problem was that people were dying of cancer.

You would think that after paying $333 Million Dollars to the victims of its willful and iniquitous treatment that PG&E would have learned its lesson.

PG&E is the epitome of Greed. Gordon Gecko in the fictional film Wall Street said "Greed is good. Greed is right. Greed Works". If Proposition 16 passes it will work very well for PG&E at your expense.

My posts get removed faster than I can write them especially when I mention the involvement of Gordon's perfomance as a Supervisor for the well heeled.

If Mr. Gordon took the time to read all of the Almanac recommendations he would have seen the the Almanac recommended a No vote on Proposition 16. This wasn't just about the Assembly race.
