When I was a kid in the mid to late 70's going to Ormondale and Corte Madera in the early 80's most kids walked to school. We headed down Georgia lane, Shawnee pass and Portola Road The kids who lived on skyline hopped on a bus. There were kids being picked up outside school but usually it was the parent expediting their delivery to a sports practice, doctor's appointment or some other distance or time sensitive appointment. I witnessed the current caravan of cars picking up kids with a friend who has a student attending Ormondale. How ridiculous. Most cars driven by nannies. I do understand that today children have more extracurricular activities that may require a ride outside PV. That's just a sign of the times. But I feel that PV has lost what was such a big part of growing up here. You had a trial by fire conducted by peers walking with you and forged friendships on the walks home. Stopping to pick up frogs and play in the creek. "No Francis don't get dirty and you might get tetanus crawling under the old barbed wire to the typhus filled frog puddles". What a bunch coddled Sissy's. PV isn't what it used to be.and the people who live here now will never know how awesome it was. I never remember anybody being killed by a car or snatched by a creep.
