I for one would like to see a special City Council meeting that is centered upon reaching consensus upon how to address the very serious accusations of misconduct that have been leveled against a majority of our City Council.
Jerry Carlson has been acussed of violating conflict of interest laws by voting to sue the High Speed Rail authority on environmental grounds as a property owner living in close proximity to the proposed right of way.
Charles Marsala has, ostensibly, been vindicated over allegations that his solicitation of a loan from a resident in litigation with the Town was improper.
Elizabeth Lewis has been accused of permit fraud.
An investigation of these very serious charges cannot be left up to the City Attorney. This special meeting should be held to consider whether the City Council should formally ask for an independent investigation of its conduct by the Attorney General.
My challenge to that majority which sits on the City Council is as follows:
If you truly are innocent of the charges I level against you in this post, you have nothing to fear. You should therefore endorse this call for the California Attorney General to come to town.
It is time to clear the air once and for all.
