Jerry Carlson stated "I take my job very seriously".
Jerry Carlson further broadsided his colleague on the Council with a notion that she had acted improperly by calling a meeting on such short notice. Jerry Carlson also vented his rage at City staff, suggesting that the Assistant City Manager nor the City Mangager, both at will employees, were no longer fit to serve Atherton.
Jerry Carlson seems to be more concerned about the fact that another member on the Council had decided to take Atherton's dirty linnen out to air, than he did cleaning up Town government.
Perhaps Jerry Carlson is feeling as though he has been hung out to dry himself.
Jerry Carlson completely missed the point of last night's meeting. The meeting was not about Jerry Carlson, the meeting was about how to make Atherton a more ethical, transparent and efficient government.
Jerry Carlson would seem to be more concerened about appearance then fact. Thus Jerry Carlson's sentiment that he takes his job very seriously is strangely out of place with his official actions.
Rather than chastise his colleague on the Council and city staff for scheduling a city council meeting and then actually holding the meeting, he should have chastised another member of the City Council, that being Charles Marsala for having brought disgrace upon this once proud community.
Jerry Carlson should not be re-elected to the City Council. He is just not up to the task. He is far too preoccupied with his own carefully manicured image.
