Mountain lion sighting in Atherton

A mountain lion sighting was reported at a home on Park Lane in Atherton late Sunday night, police said.

Can this be true? A mountain lion could make it all the way to Park Lane from the foothills without being seen? Maybe it was just a large dog (or maybe someone in the neighborhood is keeping large cats and no one knows it...until now).

I would believe it maybe by Walsh rd , but Park Lane hard to fathom.

I run on Park Lane every morning (at about 7am). I've heard about a mountain lion being spotted several years ago in that general location. Hummm, I wonder if I should run elsewhere.

There was a Mountain Lion sighting (by an Atherton police officer) on Cowell Lane couple years ago. Cowell is next to Park Lane.

The cats use the various creeks running through town to move about. I think there is a creek that runs near there. It's the time of year the young males are getting pushed out of the higher habitat by mature cats. We'll see more of them.
