Let's see - what we really need is better local transportation - infrastructure and reliable public means. Instead we voted to spend 40+ billion dollars so we can get to LaLa Land faster. The way it's going we'll get to LA quicker than we get to our local jobs.

Thank you Kopp and Diridon for your splendid use of our hard earned money. By the way, you know why they call it stimulus money? It's because the politicians who win it for their wasteful, egocentric projects get-off on spending our money.

And add to this scary article 600 new homes and umpteen new businesses in 4-5 story buildings in downtown Menlo Park. Will we ever learn?

Why is it possible to drive in San Francisco, Boston, New York or any number of cities that are more than 10 times as dense as these so called 'Massive Developments'?

Maybe the traffic scare is exaggerated?

Do you think that is a loaded headline?

I love cities and am depressed to see the old junk that is protected around here using traffic increases as the antichrist.

You should check out a fascinating documentary on PBS about the New York City subway system. Population density caused such catastrophic traffic that the whole city was coming to a stand-still. Underground public transit saved New York.

As for driving in Boston or SF, it may be possible but it isn't easy.
