I would love for Michael Stogner to become Town Manager of Atherton. He clearly knows what's going on and knows to fix it. On the other hand, it might be better for him to become a Supervisor of the County of San Mateo as he is currently trying to become so he can fix the larger issue such as Wagstaffe bring part of a Wild West law enforcement brigade. Wagstaffe needs to go, and he needs to go now. He can either go easy, or he can go hard, but he does need to go. Stogner is the man to take him down.

I am honored, very kind words from residents of the Town of Atherton. I have been crying like a baby, since I read this post. This has been a long and lonely journey. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Citizens have to invest time, there is no other way.

I am not an Athertonian. However I too admire and am grateful for your efforts.

You have suffered. As the saying goes. Freedom isn\'t free.

You are among the wounded but not the vanquished. You are not alone. In addition to being victimized by the powers that be, you have been ignored and even ridiculed by the naive and by those who are in denial.

As today is Sunday, perhaps this admonition is appropros. As Christ was dying on the cross he said something like forgive those who torment me for they know not what they are doing.

Mr. Stogner, accept your suffering in this christlike manner. Like Christ, forgive your opressors for they are ignorant.

But continue the fight as well. Take heart your because your cause is universal.

I am not suggesting that you emulate the behavior of a saint for any other reason that when you unencumber yourself of hatred. Dr. Martin Luther King knew that by doing so he was able to put your energies to more productive use.

Mr. Stogner, you have friends whom you have not met. These friends will pursue your cause along a parallel path. Take solace and take heart.

Lighten up a little sure was heavy handed.

No wonder his first post was deleted. I hope the Almanac keeps his (or hers) second post up. It exemplifies what Mr. Stogner has been up against.

Was it Cicero who said "If you don't like the message, attack the messenger"?

Lighten up a little seems to be confused. He seems to equate those who object to tyrany as anarchists. He seems those who would follow the teachings of Christ as relegious fanatics.

For one who writes with such intolerance, lighten up has chosen an odd moniker.

The word used to describe people like Michael Stogner where I come from is "hero". Corrupt police departments such as Atherton, and district attorneys such as Wagstaffe (who is willing to use the power he has to ruin lives for political favors) can be an extremely negative combination, but Stogner has been willing to take them on.

For anyone who thinks this is ranting and raving, don't forget that the Atherton police department under Bob Brennan launched a NINE MONTH criminal investigation into John Johns through Wagstaffe's office in order to get him to back down on a civil lawsuit against the Town of Atherton. It has to be stopped, because if it can happen to John Johns, it can also HAPPEN TO YOU.

Stogner has stood up to these corrupt bullies and has put himself in tremendous danger by doing so. That is a hero.
