Any corporate board member knows, it\'s never too early to think about succession planning.
I agree, lets look inside Atherton\'s borders for our next chief executive. There\'s plenty of talent here in Town.
It is time to go somewhere other than that very limited gene pool of so called professional public sector managers.
It is time to get some fresh thinking and a private sector perspective on running this town.

Having read on another post about Gruber's boneheaded comment that the Atherton PD is the finest around, I've had enough.
This self serving delusional tripe should turn the stomach of even the heartiest Athertonian.
Forget about succession planning, let the succession begin.

I propose that Kathy McKeithen serve as combined interm city manager/mayor for one year while a proper search is conducted to recruit a permanent one. Her mandate will be to clear up existing problems so that when the new manager starts, there can be no finger pointing as to current issues being a function of previous litigation, etc. etc.

Those who have been trying to clean house at 91 Ashfield should take solace in the fact that progress is being made, albeit at a snail's pace.
We owe a debt of gratitude to those few who have patiently kept the pressure on. In due time they will be rewarded for their efforts.

Per usual, Mr. Gruber needs to refer to an almanac to figure out which way the wind is blowing
It's headed south

Who does the Atherton City manager really have to answer to? Can't Gruber just do what he wants?

The Police Dept and the management team can all do what ever they want with a divided council.
This is happening in Menlo Park and a lot of other places.
In the case of Atherton-Gruber did not start this division-but he sure figured out fast how convenient it is--he had the police dept to explain it to him how this works.
He was never the right guy to fix what's wrong with this town, only a great pick for pretending there really isn't a problem.

I did offer to meet with your leaders to discuss my ideas about getting your Police Department on the right track. I'd like to do a ride-along
This can be fixed quickly with the right authority.
My last post about this subject was deleted. I hope this stays

The Town of Atherton has nothing to lose and everything to gain by meeting with Michael Stogner and exploring his perspectives on how to change the PD. By all means, approve the ride along an let Stogner go out in the field with these officers. His understanding of their issues will enhance his overall perspective on how to best achieve the problem solving.
Thank you, Michael, for these generous offers.
Who better to do this than Michael Stogner? Some crony of Guerra's who's going to say everything is copacetic? Let's get real!

Good idea. Mr. Stogner is a neutral third party from another community who can be objective about these issues.
