If you get a ticket, you CAN fight it, and win. The contract between the City and Redflex contains illegal language concerning "cost neutrality" - which has already caused the City of San Mateo to rewrite their contract. If the cameras are not preventing accidents or making the intersections, it does seem that the only purpose is to increase revenues for the City, and that just isn't allowed by law. Do some research and challenge the ticket you get - you will not have to pay the fine, at least until the City changes their contract with Redflex.
