Guest opinion: High-Speed Rail Authority should get coal for Christmas

There is no doubt the High-Speed Rail Authority has been naughty and not so nice this year. Authority board members have described Peninsula communities that oppose their plans as "rotten apples," and described Central Valley critics as "farmers screaming bloody murder." And, according to board member Quentin Kopp, our communities are "hotbeds of agitation."

The new business plan explains that Private Investors need something called an "Investment Grade" ridership study before they can put any money into this project.

Shouldn't that be something all Californians should have as well? What kind of ridership study did we get? How can they be allowed to continue with such flawed data?! Unbelievable!

What's the normal protocol for releasing Business Plans? This one didn't get approved by the CHSRA Board. It wasn't discussed or voted on at their Board Meeting. Is that acceptable?
