Gerrys Cakes should close. Their service is horrible and their cup cakes cost more than Atherton Real Estate. If you show up at the right time, you will find the owner and her minions rushing out to Draegers to buy more ingredients for the orders they forgot to bake. GOOD RIDDENS!

Unlike Cake Lover, I think Gerry's cakes are AMAZING! Our family has been buying our birthday/holiday cakes from them for years. The cake is always yummy and very moist and how can you not love the decorating? Also, their Apple turnovers are to die for! I've had a cupcake or two and they are very good. Personally, I'd hate to see Gerry's go away. The baker is a nice guy and should be the one to run the business though. He's the heart and soul of the bakery.

Tres desole to be sure. Like Mary of Menlo Park, it would truly be a sad day if the doors of this establishment close forever. The young man is the heart and soul of that business.
I do know about the cakes and cookies and other sweeties which are so tasty. Those Staff members at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto who I know personally get some of there cakes, cookies and other desserts during the holiday season.

I love Gerry's Cakes. The Maryland cake is one that I have been getting since I was a little girl (then it was Pink Pastry). The service is terrible, as you can never get a person on the phone. I am trying to call them now to order a birthday cake for my son, and I have been unsuccessful 3 or 4 times now. I continue however to go to try because the bakery is so good. I hope they work out their business problems and get it together. Good luck!
