Mary Gilles speaks with such refreshing candor that I only wish that people of her perspicacity and fiscal responsibility would run for city council.
We have two City Council candidates Heyward Robinson & Richard Cline who when runnning for city council the first time in 2006 met with the SEIU behind closed doors in a private meeting on City property that barred the public from attending. One can only assume that the SEIU was demanding a quid-pro-quo from Heyward and Rich and apparently they got it.
Heyward Robinson recently said on camera at a City council meeting when discussing the up to 30% pay raises for the police officers "Chief Goitia are they worth it and he said Absolutely and that was good enough for me".
Heyward and Rich have rolled over on the taxpayers and they need to be voted out of office and replaced with poeple who will put the residents' interests above the SEIU's and the other unions.
What we have now are Union Stewards by proxy masquerading as City Council members. This must be put to an end. You can return the City back to the residents by not voting for Heyward and Rich in the 2010 City Council election.
