Before the vote: the parcel tax "fund[s] infrastructure improvements as well as town general fund expenses such as police and employee salaries." -- inaccurate and certainly misleading.
After the vote: "The money flows into the town's general fund, and each year, the City Council decides how to allocate it." -- accurate and truthful.
However, I do applaud Mr. Carlson's comments that problems still need to get solved.

The first is an indirect quote from Mayor Carlson:
The town relies on proceeds from the parcel tax to fund road repair and drainage projects, as well as to shore up the public safety budget, said Mayor Jerry Carlson.
The second is the reporter's summary of the parcel tax's use, that ran both before (issue of Oct. 15) and after the election. Web Link

Well I think I may know where 230,000.00 of this monies went. Hey Atherton we work hard for our money that we give you.
