Hmmm. Eric Weiss has repeatedly struck me as someone with a superiority complex. I do hope this humbles him a bit.

Dear Pondering - I think you've missed the point of the article. It's about subjective use of an ordinance and the property owner's name is insignificant. But since you've decided to be anonymously personal, please remember that there are TWO Dr. Eric Weisses in Woodside: one with a famously arrogant reputation and one with a very admirable reputation. This particular one was the admirable one!

I agree with eightball. The Eric Weiss referred to in this article is an amazingly generous person. He's widely recognized as an integral part of our community for 20 years - having spent more than a decade volunteering to work w/ Woodside Fire District, CEERP, several Woodside School committees, etc. You must have the wrong guy!
Also agree that this isn't the issue. The fine for something like this (where everyone agrees it was beneficial) should be reflective of the negative impact on the environment (i.e. NONE!!)

Yes - this is not a place to air unsupported and undeserved personal opinions about someone. Very immature. You should retract it.

Dr. Weiss does not have a superiority complex, but certainly
has reason to- his new Wellness Studio was voted best new business
by Almanac readers such as yourself.

9.5 inches determines a Heritage Oak, when we are reminded daily of the Sudden Oak Syndrome demise of Live Oaks that will defoliate our forest?
[Portion constituting an unsubstantiated personal attack removed]
Council should pay the Weiss' for their effort to eradicate potential Sudden Oak Death Syndrome infestations.
