170 of us reside at Menlo Commons, where you must be 55 to live.
The commercial building will be only 100 feet from the fence.
The two residential units are decoys.
This is a residential neighborhood.
The planning commission in March ALL voted against this propoosed building, ALL 5 of them.
The first thing one member of the commission stated was that there were PLENTY of other places in Menlo Park for them to build.
The builder has been dishonest in what he says and in some of the answers they have given to questions.
The Sandhill entrance, i.e. walking by, is extremely unsafe. Senior Citizens do not need the added addition of traffic when they are trying to get to the Sharon Park Shopping Center.
They say the building is for commercial offices. It could be and sold at anytime! The occupants could be massage parlors or any other business!! There is no guarentee who the occupants will be in the future.
All the occupants would make it noisier with the cars going in and out all day.
They say they will plant trees. They take years and years to grow.
Why should the residents of Menlo Commons have to look out their livingroom windows at this?

That busy corner is perfect for a commercial application. Those dreary old houses are well past their prime and the intersection is too big for residential.
Another commercial building is across the street on the corner.
The Menlo Commons people live in a high density, multi family residential project across the street which is a much more intense use than the single family homes in the area and they have coexisted harmoniously.
