The food and staff have been the pits during the recent few years.
Also, they could never rise to Jeffery's for a basic burger.

I heard that the landlord of the building is very difficult to deal with and the lease is expiring. Does anyone know what is up with Deeelish in the same building? It's closed and the poster on the doors says "gone fishing" for the summer.

first togo's , deelish and now chilie's ok what the hell is going on here. Pretty soon their won't be any local places to eat any more.

It's a tough business and the tastes of the community change over time.
Perhaps another innovative restaurant will fill in.
If the problem was really with the landlord, who or what office in the city administration was helping adjudicate the problem? Was the city aware of the potential closing? Good job for an investigative journalist.

1) Jeffery's isn't that great. Chili's had a better burger.

2) That whole shopping plaza is difficult for consumers to get to. The configuration is not user friendly.

3) I wonder why Chili's is closing... it is always crowded.

4) I wish it was staying... it was a decent place in an area without many alternatives.

We liked Chili's for the most part -- the biggest problem seemed to be the service could be pretty slow.

I think Jeffery's killed it off; we would head to Jeffery's sometimes, find it way to busy, and end up at Chili's and find few partrons there.

We still have plenty of places to eat in town -- the new Amici's is good, but relatively expensive. The Chili's center is not doing well at all.

It would be nice to see the City accelerate its plans for redeveloping the El Camino corridor. We really don't need 3 years of meetings about it. It's just ridiculous.

I don't understand jeffrey's. their burgers are not that good. never had a burger at chili's though.

That building is retarded. They should have store front facing el camino real, not the rail.

At one time, it was an okay place to take your kids for a quick lunch or dinner. Unfortunately, Chili's had gotten dirtier and dirtier over the past few years and the service declined. Hopefully, the landlord will find a better tenant!

I had a recent meal at Chili's and I would never go back. It's just crappy chain restaurant sludge and I'm not sad that it's closing down, although I do feel sympathy for the employees who will lose their jobs.

The food is great the services sucks now.It has gone way down hill ! I have always call in a order to go an they always say...." 15 Min. but when you go there to pick up your food there are people standing there still waiting for there order. I have ask if it's not done in 15 Min. can i have it for free ? or 20 Min. or 25 Min. No sorry sir,But they don't mind if you "WAIT FOR YOUR FOOD WITH EVERYBODY ELSE WHO'S PISS OFF !" The food is great ! The service SUCKS !

The best burgers around here are at Kirk's in Town and Country in Palo Alto. Chili's is not that good for burgers, better for other stuff. Jeffrey's is all hat and no cattle. Oasis and Dutch Goose are way overrated as to burgers. Zott's is on a par with Kirk's but none of these others come close.

We're on a summer hiatus (our business is very closely tied to the school calendar), and will be back in September. The September menu will be posted, and orders can be placed starting in early August.

(And as for the landlord: nothing but love from us, baby!)

My kids will be devastated! We've been going to this Chili's for years! Much bigger selection, reasonable prices, and more festive atmosphere that Jeffrey's or the other local family places. My only complaint was that they cranked up the air conditioning way too high -- I was always freezing in there. What a shame it's closing.

I am with Stephanie. While it was not haute cuisine, we could get a healthy, reasonably priced kids meal, fun drinks and a decent, but not great adult meal -- all that somebody brings to me with hours of entertainment from the Cal Train. My kids will be very sad!

We drove to Half Moon Bay with four kids and they do not even have a Denny's, Carl's,Wendy's,KFC, or a place where we can sit at a table unless we go to a super high priced restaurant which kids do not like and disturb other eaters.
So, they got their choice of Jack in the Box or Macdonalds. It is no wonder people have problems with obesity. We do not eat fast foods anywhere unless they have salads or green vegetables.
We drove to Pacifica and it had more options.Americans must cut down on eating high fat foods.

It is a shame that is closed after 25 years! It was really the only family friendly place in MP. I guess I'll take my family and tax dollars to Redwood City or Palo Alto now.

El Camino in MP is dying faster than the City can work to revive it.

Why do people think they can only feed their children at chain restaurants that serve chicken fingers and fries? I wouldn't give my dog the kind of swill served at Denny's or KFC.
There are plenty of great places to eat in Half Moon Bay in lots of price ranges. Open your mind, be adventurous, your kids will thank you later.
