Public invited to meetings on fire district budget

Four community meetings to discuss the economic future of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District, as well as the district's proposed 2009-10 budget, will be held this week in towns served by the district.

The public needs to realize that the Fire District MAY need to make drastic cuts in 2010 and 2011 IF property tax revenues fall significantly. The public's input on which Fire District services are most and least important will help guide the Board in determining which services would be reduced or eliminated. Hopefully the public will take the time to participate in this process.
