Doctor sentenced in Internet prescription case

A Colorado doctor accused of illegally prescribing anti-depressants to a Menlo Park resident who later committed suicide was sentenced Friday in San Mateo County Superior Court to nine months in county jail for practicing medicine without a California medical license.

I applaud the courageous and selfless effort by John McKay's parents to turn this tragedy into an opportunity to help prevent similar tragedies in the future when medicine is practiced irresponsibly.
There is nothing on earth that could make up for the loss of a child, though, and our hearts go out to John's family.
