All the City Governments should form a union and agree on a pay schedule for all city employees based on the type of job and job performance. Years on the job should not be a factor. This should be offered to all employee unions. The Union does not have to accept the offer but the pay schedule goes into effect 30 days after the current union contract expires. Any union employee who strikes is immediately terminated and is replaced with a qualified applicant from the large pool of unemployed California people. Unemployed people who qualify should be given tentative offers contingent on job openings. Any person who is convicted of assault or who has a civil judgment rendered agaisnt him or her for any type of physical violence can never be rehired by the City for any reason.

Borat has been very helpful in helping me design my evolution to socialism game plan for Menlo Park. And he doesn't get in any fights on the basketball court to embarrass me. Thank you comrade.

Gosh, thanks, Henry. In three paragraphs you solved the entire issue of union negotiations, police salaries and budget management. Such visionaries in this town.

The first problem to solve is the City Council problem. Once that is solved the rest is doable. But with the current council giving away the store the burden on the Menlo Park residents will continue to rise while our reserves continue to fall. Heyward, Kelly, Andy, and Richard are the recipe for the Perfect Storm. Batten down the hatches! We are in Sea State 5 halfway between Scylla and Charybdis.

Clearly you folks have no idea what communism/socialism means. I didn't realize Menlo Park residents were so ignorant -- or are you just Milpitas wannabes?

Socialism means that the out of town environmental groups and the unions run Menlo Park. Menlo park is my petri dish for my great socialist experiment. The residents need to understand that we are doing this for their own good. Menlo Park will be the great socialist model for all other communities to follow.

"Socialism means that the out of town environmental groups and the unions run Menlo Park."
out of town environmental groups - HUH???? That's a new one!
unions - if you want to look at the city council giving wage increases to city employees as meaning the union runs things, fine, but then you might as well say that unions run all cities & towns (and something tells me you will say just that).
Good luck with your "petri dish" there bud, but I'd lay off inhaling it's fumes for awhile if I were you.

WOW MAN. Why inhale petri dish fumes when we can drink Gail's Kool Aid?

check out the UC chancellor severance, reassignment scandals that were headlined in the San Francisco Chronicle today.
Makes the Sarge's deal with MP city council look like biz as usual.
Bottom line, the real city/university admininistration crooks never end up in Chino (think incarceration), where our current city mgr. last hails from, they
just get recycled like our local politicians into more lucrative, taxpayer soaking, positions of influence.
Same old, same old, nobody on our local council with cojones enough to say, ENOUGH! NOT ON MY WATCH!!
Don't miss out
on the discussion!
