Council meeting totally devoted to Climate Action.

Original post made by not supported by me, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Jan 22, 2009

Well the "greenies" led now by Mayor Robinson will devote the whole City council meeting of Jan 27th to:

Presentation of the Preliminary Draft Climate Action Plan

I just can't support such an effort. There are many more important things our City council should be attending. This whole effort first started by then Mayor Fergusson, when she allowed Gail Slocum to have 30 minutes to promote her views on Climate change has now evolved to taking a whole council meeting. Just how much money is being spent here?

How much is going to be spent in the future. How many new building codes are going to be passed which will make new development and new homes even more expensive.

Is any council member going to have the guts to resist? Is this "green" agenda going to swallow up our whole City government.

Maybe Mayor Robinson will now be asking for the City to approve new travel allowances to attend "green conventions". BTW, just how much did it cost the City to send him to Washington?

We have been patient with City Manager Rojas. He needs to be replaced when his contract expires in 1.5 years. He should be replaced by a Manager at a salary capped at $100,000. If the White House staff can work for that amount, anyone in our city should be able to also.
