Bail remains for doctor in death of MP student

A San Mateo County Superior Court judge Wednesday morning declined to eliminate bail for a Colorado doctor accused of illegally prescribing anti-depressant pills to a Menlo Park college student, who two months later committed suicide, a deputy district attorney said.

Why SHOULD the judge have lowered bail? The man fought extradition from Colorado, and only showed up for court in California because he was arrested for speeding in Nebraska, and they extradited him. He is not trustworthy, and hoped to get away with what is tantamount to murder by avoiding trial.

At the very least he should spend a few months in jail to think about his callous crime.
