Mountain lions: Deputies patrol trails

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Department has begun deploying deputies on off-road motorcycles on trails in the hills in response to four recent mountain lion sightings in the Woodside/Portola Valley area.

What an inane waste of tax payer dollars. Where do they think these mountain lions are going to go once our dirt bike-happy deputies drive them off the open space preserves?

Just issue some hunt tags and lets "take care" of the problem before some kid gets eaten.
