High school dropout rate: 24 percent

In the last school year, nearly a quarter of California's public high school students dropped out before graduating, according to data released Wednesday by the California Department of Education.

This report isn't a surprise, it's just a confirmation of the horrible failure of secondary education in the state. The public education system is failing a quarter of its students, and it's shameful.
