Summer Reading starts June 1st at Atherton Library

The annual summer reading begins June 1st and runs through August. This year's reading program for pre-readers and elementary school children is called "Catch the Reading Bug". The theme for teens is "Metamorphosis". Fun family programs and incentive prizes further encourage the reading habit. Come to the library beginning June 1st to pick up your reading log. Children who read 20 minutes a day will earn prizes over the course of the summer. Upon completion, they will receive a prize bag, paperback book, and a ticket for an age appropriate raffle prize. Babies up to one year of age will receive a special sign up prize, and receive a free book upon completion. Teens need to complete at least 4 reviews (written or drawn) to receive a $10 gift card. Participants will be eligible to win a $25 gift card, and those who complete all their reviews can enter a drawing for an iPod Touch.
