Property rights battle takes center stage in Atherton council election

Lawsuits, youth sports and property rights were hot topics at a forum for Atherton council candidates sponsored by the Atherton Civic Interest League on the blisteringly hot evening of May 15.

It's very civic-minded of you to post information about town officials on your web page, and I applaud your efforts.

One small fix you might consider: on your list of staff that the council "hires and fires" you should remove the library (it's a county branch library and the city has no authority over its staffing) and the fire protection district (it's not a municipal fire department but a fire district with its own board of directors, separate funding, and is likewise not under the control of the town).
