Daffodils by the thousands

About 14,000 daffodils live on Village Hill in Woodside, having been planted there by the Woodside Landscape Committee, and many of the yellow and white flowers are now in bloom. Photo by Veronica Weber/The Almanac

    Why plant daffodils when there are so many beautiful, native wild flowers such as California poppies or lupine that would better fit into the California landscape. Daffodils are pretty but seem out of place.
