I wonder if the under-the-table approval decision to develop the Acorn restaurant site without public input.

I didn't know that the ECR plan allowed for some parcels to be off limits to public input.

Reminder to all of you out there that this is the same "Joanna" who has chronically misled readers regarding a slew of issues from the Park Theatre to the downtown visioning. "She" accused the council of illegal activities and threatened a recall to no avail.

If you want an idea as to where this all comes from, just take a short moment to review the most consistent voices on this forum. They apologize for and reward Mayor Cohen. They threaten the rest of the council time and again regarding the same issues (development or parking and how they hate both). They try to derail good processes by using past examples and blurring the lines. They are gunning for the downtown visioning project now and you can bet the gymnasium is next.

The worst part? They are few in number and they are the same voices. And "Joanna" is really an older man who has lived here for years. And the Acorn site reaction is the give away.

The gig is up. Come out from the shadows and at least look the community in the eye if you are going to try to cast accusations.

Or just attack some more. This debate is no longer about council favorites. This is about what type of community rhetoric and exchange we are going to accept. Argue and debate opinions, absolutely. Stand tall on positions, you bet.

What good is an ECR study/plan if major components, in this case a major cornerstone building in the "strip", are made for us? Is our input good for median trees? Light pole colors? Mail box locations?

What good is any study? Why did Menlo Park waste our money (again) by sending out fancy mailings if they will make the decisions without input?

Developers sumbit plans and pull permits. Hearings are scheduled. Law dictates a fair and timely decision on appeals. You know this because you are part of the Referendums LLC group here. This developer had every right to get a decision.
