Help Save A Heritage Oak

Original post made by Nancy Palmer, Menlo Park: Central Menlo Park, on Oct 3, 2007

The healthy oak tree on Oak Knoll School Grounds was here generations before you and I were born and by rights should be alive after we move on. To destroy it in the interests of a short-sighted plan of convenience at a time that sudden oak death syndrome threatens its kind is unconscionable. There is a better way and a better plan. Please speak up and address the Oak Knoll School redevelopment plan as stewards of your surroundings. Nancy Palmer

The school district wants to remove the oak to put in huge parking lot. What a shame.
