I don't like to jump to conclusions before all the facts are in, but this smells REAL BAD to me -- and Mr. Johns doesn't appear to be the odoriferous party. The administrative leave is bad enough, but to call in the cops? Can't wait to hear what the personnel investigation turns up. Let's hope the town doesn't try to hide the results -- again.

I have been in city council meetings when Mr. Johns has been berated by the female city council member. It was horrifying that this type of conduct happens in our wonderful town of Atherton.
Maybe a certain city council members needs to be put on leave.

As well as the hostile work environment he created (which was substantiated by several city employees), Mr. Johns was employed as a consultant on outside projects that took significant time away from his primary job with the city. Why should government employees' jobs be protected when their unsatisfactory performance would warrant their dismissal in the for-profit world? The city should look for responsible, respectful managers who will work in the citizens' best interests instead of their own.
