I saw the aftermath - it was a terrible accident.

Nonetheless, any intersection has a small but non-zero chance of being the location of an accident. Whether or not an intersection is dangerous must be judged by looking over a long period of time, not simply at a single event.

I live on Walnut, one street north of Watkins, and while I don't know the details of this accident, my husband and I have always found it difficult to turn from Watkins onto El Camino because the view south on El Camino is often blocked by parked cars in front of the Acorn Restaurant. I deliberately avoid turning onto El Camino from Watkins.

I saw the aftermath of the accident at around 11:30am and both cars were still there and it was horrifying! I have made that turn off Watkins hundreds of times driving my kids to school and it is a very difficult intersection. I believe that some sort of traffic light should be installed...this is not the first accident that has happened at this intersection and I am sure it will not be the last. Something should be done before there is a fatal accident!

This was an extremely serious accident. I live close by and was at the scene about 15 minutes the accident occurred. I have posted 5 pictures of the scene, taken about 1 hour after the accident and just after the driver had finally been freed from her car.

I heard it from my house and it was loud and I went to take a look, the passenger was bleeding, the cops were directing traffic and didn't/couldn't help him and the driver, from what I saw I thought was dead, her head was back against the the head rest and she was not moving at all, we need to put some kind of traffic signal there, it is one of the scariest corners the city, especially if your in a car with children heading to the west bound on watkins to el camino
