What I don’t understand is why the city council, planning commission and city staff did not demand a traffic study in the first place, regardless of square footage. For goodness sake, it’s El Camino Real!
Furthermore, the project was not required to provide the appropriate number of parking spaces. What I don’t understand is why the city cannot require ALL developments on El Camino to provide underground parking. There is no need to wait for a completed El Camino Grand Boulevard study.
Just say, NO construction on El Camino without a traffic study! NO development on El Camino without underground parking. That’s not so difficult, is it?
