Ron Wilson says that bicyclists should be banned from Arastradero and Old La Honda because the roads are too narrow. This makes no sense. The roads are plenty wide for bicycles, which take up much less space than cars. Banning cars makes much more sense, especially since there are more bikes than cars on these roads.

I know this will upset environmentalists, but I would like to see a paved bike trail (occasionally swept of star thistles!) through the Arastradero Preserve starting along the path that enters Arastradero where the American Institutes for Research entrance is to the bike lane after the crossing to the car park and just before Page Mill. There is plenty of room for such a trail.

I would also like to keep the rough trail for horses quite separate - recognizing that horses and bikes on the same trail are not a good idea.

Of course this will cost money - but maybe the funds should be raised to build and maintain such a trail.

Mountain bikes and hybrids can bike through Arastradero, but its not a feasible route for anyone doing a serious bike ride, also one never knows if a mountain lion will jump out of the trees in the spooky parts of the path.
