Favorite memories of May Day

Original post made by Waving and Clapping, Woodside: other, on May 2, 2007

The annual May Day parade is almost here, and it got me thinking about what I like best about the event.

There are a lot of great things about it, but I think I like the sense of community it brings more than any other aspect. Woodside has changed a lot in recent years, but the sitting along the parade route every year really brings back that close-knit community feeling that I associate with Woodside.

What else is great about May Day?

I remember the times when Shirley Temple Black and Joe Montana were parade marshals.

The highlight is the Las Trancos Woodside marching band. What happened to the guy who wore the diaper? He's still around, but why no diaper?
