Breakfast benefits Family & Children Services

Original post made by Good Guy, another community, on May 2, 2007

The fourth annual Circle of Support Breakfast, set for Thursday, May 10, benefits Family & Children Services, the Palo Alto-based agency that helps children and families struggling with such problems as mental illness, violence and substance abuse.
The breakfast is set for 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza CabaƱa Hotel in Palo Alto. Parenting author Mike Riera will speak on "The Hidden Logic of Children and Teens."
Ladera resident Lawrence M. (Larry) Schwab, a Palo Alto attorney and 20-year community volunteer, is the 2007 special honoree.
Tickets are $70 each and advance reservations are required. Proceeds from the breakfast benefit the mental health programs of Family & Children Services, including school-based counseling, violence prevention, intervention and treatment, and self-sufficiency training for youth preparing for life after foster care.
In another post, James J. Welsh, the CEO of Family & Children Services, provides his perspective on the value of counseling for young people. To view it click here: Web Link
