Menlo Park has just elected and sworn in a new city council that has promised to be more responsive to the public. Now is a good time for Menlo Park residents to make New Year's resolutions to do more for their city. There are vacancies on various boards and commissions that need filling, and there are potential future task forces and community forums that could provide input and direction for our Council.
Over the past couple of years, attendance at City Council meetings has been miniscule. It's time that citizens returned to the City Council chambers to be heard.
I serve on the Housing Commission and it has been a rewarding and educational experience that I highly recommend. The commissions and their missions are all listed on the city's web site. Applications can be downloaded at Web Link
If we want the best for our city, then we should give our best to the city.
