Residents Take Matters Into Their Own Hands
Photo Exhibit (Walgreens)
Walk along the downtown Santa Cruz Avenue sidewalk in front of Walgreens and you will discover an engaging new photo exhibit recently installed by Elevate Art Menlo Park. The colorful exhibit spans two previously unused large storefront windows and contains sixteen carefully curated photos by Los Altos-based photographer Bill Scull. The photos were selected and arranged to encourage passers-by to stop and learn how exceptional photographs are created.

Elevate Art Menlo Park
The exhibit at Walgreens is the latest downtown art installation by Elevate Art Menlo Park, a new local nonprofit that aims to enhance the creative life and overall well-being of our city by bringing engaging, contemporary fine art that is viewable in outdoor public spaces in downtown Menlo Park. The small organization was founded in 2021 by three Menlo Park residents: Christine Duval, Debbie Hall, and Dana Hendrickson. We all love art and living in Menlo Park. The artwork is installed on private property and every art project is entirely funded by fully tax-deductible donations. We partner with building owners, commission Bay Area artists, and fully manage all aspects of art installations.
Exterior Wall Art (Posh Bagel)

...Return On Investment
Stroll along the Evelyn Street sidewalk between the entrances of Posh Bagel and Kicks and you will find amazing wall art created by San Francisco-based Phillip Hua and commissioned by Elevate Art Menlo Park. This art installation was completed last month. Titled Return on Investment, this artwork explores both an important relationship between nature and commerce and the aesthetic boundaries of painting, collage, and digital art. In this work, the artist is asking the viewer: when nature and wealth compete for our attention, on which do we focus? Do we really need to sacrifice one for the other?

Exterior Wall Art (Menlo Church)

...Under The Wide Sky We Gather
The first wall art installed by Elevate Art Menlo Park is located on the Santa Cruz Avenue exterior of the Menlo Church Student Center. Under The Wide Sky We Gather is an intricate, colorful, and lively creation by Oakland-based, Carrie Lederer. Her work transports viewers across land and sky, illuminating a path to the deep, dark recesses of our universe. Her perspective—both micro and macro—conveys the bold and delicate forms that exist in the mysterious realms that surround us. Visit it often to discover unusual design elements and juxtapositions.
