This coordination is an excellent and productive idea. I would like our city and area efforts to continue to pay attention to illegal tints, excessively loud mufflers and speeding. These conditions are often linked and seen on El Camino and Middle Avenue. Thanks for this reporting.

I’m glad the police are ticketing for most of these dangerous behaviors. I do wish they would be equally vigilant about dangerous and illegal biking behavior. It’s a free for all out there. Many, many riders don’t think the rules apply to them. Their behavior can be extremely risky — a danger to themselves and to anyone else on the road.

More of this please!

Stopped recently at a light in San Carlos, I happened to be alongside one of our esteemed officers of the Law, and mentioned the number of vehicles making left turns long after the red light that I see each day. His response?

"Yeah, it's pretty bad here!"

There is much-needed work to do to keep the roads a safer place for all of us, and to deter those who do not think the rules apply to them.
