So what will become of:
1) the hybrid reopening plan that many parents and students are still desperate for, the outsized influence of the teachers union, and
2) Tide Academy, bolstered by the friendship with Streshly, and then besot with turmoil? In the open house, they mentioned they had only ~50 students in the 2nd class out of the 100 planned. I'd like to consider it for my kids, but really need to know why parents are rejecting it and what is changing to address those concerns.

Hybrid learning with in class time? You can forget it for this school year. The teachers' union calls the shots.

The Board is right to ask questions about why the last search process resulted in a short tenure. My observation watching the SUHSD Board with Dr Streshly is that she and her team presented recommendations with insufficient supporting information and analysis and that the Board did not press for more and better work before their decisions. Instead they pushed ahead. The Board did not criticize her work in cases where in their shoes I would have. The Board did not lead and exercise the supervision that they were elected to provide on behalf of the community.
