Our City Council needs fresh ideas and fresh approaches. We also need competitive Council races, so I hope that another living in District 5 will run. Please do not be put off by Mueller's early list of endorsers. After all, Kirstin Keith also had a similar long list (on paper) but she was soundly defeated by Drew Combs.
While I appreciate Mueller's service to the City, term limits are needed for the Council members. The City's Advisory Commissions have two-term limits. After two, the person is supposed to wait for at least one year before applying for the same commission again. Allowing more than two terms for the City Council represents a double-standard. Term limits gives others a chance to run as it is more difficult to unseat incumbents. Menlo Park does not need professional politicians.

My wife and I are happy to hear Ray is running again. I am certain our friends from our kids school will think so too. He works really hard and puts in a ton of hours for the community. He does a great job. I think Mr. Combs makes a strong argument why with so much change at City Hall keeping Ray on the City Council is important.

Ray's done a great job. He added some moderation to the pro-development council he served with.

Gosh, not another council member who wants a third term! Didn't the last two council members who ran for a third term lose? Does anyone remember council member Cline who ran and won a third term and then continued his plan to pave the city with office buildings?
Three terms is dangerous. A council member in eight years makes strong relationships with staff and developers. Menlo Park needs a fresh voice who can see how bad decisions have brought this city to a traffic standstill. Mueller was part of every vote for 8 years. It's time to wake up and do something different. 2 terms is enough.

The really interesting race for City Council is going to take place in District 3. There are already a few potential candidates beating the bushes right now talking to people and different camps are forming in what is sure to be a hotly contested race for the wide open seat. Most of the interest in the City will be focused there.

We have term limits already. They are called "elections." If enough voters prefer another candidate, the incumbent isn't returned.

Mueller is a dedicated and talented elected official and we are fortunate that he is running for a third term. At the last elected we added three superb new council members and Ray's experience is an excellent compliment to their fresh perspectives.

I like Ray because he pays lip service to "progressive" ideals, but then he never actually does anything to upset the Single-Family Home Equity Gravy Train! Express interest in a RV parking lot at USGS but then back down when neighbors squawk? That's my guy!
