Well, I wonder how much difference it makes if you are 50 feet away vs. 100 feet away from the fault?
Aren't most of them a mile underground and shake for 30+ miles or more?
The San Andreas fault has a 9% probabilty of a 6.7 or greater in the next 20-30 years. Hayward fault is more likely, but anything could happen.
