It's about time that Stanford is held accountable in SMC for the undeniable impacts that come along with their development plans. Given their tax-exempt status and the absolute free ride they were given with their Stanford in Redwood City campus, it's time to open up the checkbook.

Much of the potential traffic impact will be felt in W. Menlo Park, (especially along Alpine/Alameda/Santa Cruz) where there are no other huge developments to dilute the impact of SU such as in Santa Clara County, and where residents are surrounded by Stanford facilities, and inundated by traffic to the hospital and shopping center. The "no new trips" is utter nonsense. Any development should be phased in, with separate DEIRs for each major project because no one can foretell what will happen in the next two decades. Why should Stanford be treated any differently from other major projects in Santa Clara County.
