How would SB 50 impact Menlo Park?

Across California, Senate Bill 50, a proposed law that would require cities to relax height, density and parking restrictions in areas that have a lot of jobs and reliable public transit, is sparking controversy, especially in affluent suburban areas that prize low-density, single-family residential neighborhoods.

The article does not take into account additional "jobs-rich" areas for building under SB 50: all of Menlo Park zoned residential or commercial. The bill is being pushed by the big corporations for corporate employees - not for "affordable housing" for others. The "affordable housing" stuff was added to sell the bill - to accumulate supporters and reduce detractors. I see online that the LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL VOTED 12-0 today to oppose SB 50. Most of them are liberals. But they can READ. Will the LA Times even report the vote? We shall see tomorrow morning.
