This is a thoughtful, fair and welcomed result, given that the issue is likely to arise in the future. Hopefully, with the new clarity around the rules, our town can welcome additional young, talented and public-service minded citizens and residents into other elected positions.

Once again, great legal minds meet again. If Facebook owns 80% plus of real estate in Menlo Park..... Facebook beat us again! A recusal is a yes vote for Facebook. Will Combs vote against Facebook?
District 1.
Maybe her grant award from the Chan Zuckerberg Foundation won’t be a problem. But, will she vote against Facebook issues?
Menlo Park politics.... you can’t make this stuff up!

Good to see this article and the proof that all the misinformation being spread around during the campaign was exactly what we knew it was, a scare tactic to try to get people to avoid voting for Combs (who won by a 2 to 1 margin)

Glad we're keeping the focus on
"what can Drew vote on?"
instead of
"what does it mean to have a councilmember who has aligned himself with a company that's an ethical dumpster fire?"
There is literally another Almanac article right now about how Facebook violated the Fair Housing Act! That is on top of their abuse of user data, negative effects on elections, amplifying ethnic strife (and murder!) in other countries, targeting children and teens for their data, etc. etc. etc. But don't worry, Drew can vote on general stuff in that area- that's the REAL issue here.
